摘要

Abstract

Eicosapentaenoic acid ( EPA ) is one of the essential omega?3 long?chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, which plays an important role in human health and has an effective role in reducing the incidence of dis?eases, such as cardiovascular disease and cancer. Natural EPA mainly stem from deep?sea fish, microalgae and milk, and milk is the ideal food to supply the EPA for human. Therefore, increasing the content of EPA in milk is beneficial for human health. This paper reviews the physiological functions, metabolism in dairy cows and the regulation of EPA in milk.[ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(9) :3953?3960]
