Effects of Dietary Crude Fiber Level on Growth Performance, Nutrient Apparent Digestibility and Serum Biochemical Indexes of Growing and Finishing Shenxian Pigs

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to study the effects of different dietary crude fiber levels on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility and serum biochemical indexes of growing and finishing Shenxian pigs, to determine optimal dietary crude fiber level of growing and finishing Shenxian pigs. Thirty healthy growing and finishing Shenxian pigs with similar age and similar body weight of ( 15.68±1.26) kg were ran?domly allotted to 3 groups and 10 replicates per group and 1 pig per replicate. Pigs were fed the experimental diets with 6%, 8% and 10% crude fiber levels, respectively. The experiment lasted for 38 days including pre?test period of 7 days and test period of 31 days. The results showed as follows: 1) average daily gain ( ADG) in 6% and 8% crude fiber level groups was significantly higher than that in 10% crude fiber level group ( P<0.05) , average daily feed intake ( ADFI) in 8% crude fiber level group was significantly higher than that in 6% crude fiber level group ( P<0.05) , and the ratio of feed to gain in 6% crude fiber level group was signifi?cantly lower than that in 8% and 10% crude fiber level groups ( P<0.05). 2) The apparent digestibility of crude protein ( CP) and gross energy ( GE) in 8% crude fiber level group were significantly higher than those in 6% and 10% crude fiber level groups ( P<0.05) , the apparent digestibility of calcium ( Ca) and phosphorus ( P) in 6% crude fiber level group were significantly higher than those in 10% crude fiber level group ( P<0.05) , and the apparent digestibility of crude fiber ( CF) in 6% crude fiber level group was significantly lower than that in 8% and 10% crude fiber level groups ( P<0.05). 3) The contents of albumin ( ALB) and total protein ( TP) in serum in 10% crude fiber level group were significantly lower than those in 6% and 8% crude fiber level groups ( P<0.05). Comprehensive analysis of various indicators, optimal dietary crude fiber level can enhance growth performance, improve nutrient apparent digestibility of growing and finishing Shenxian pigs, and 7.57% crude fiber level can reach the optimum effect.[ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(9) :4371?4377]关键词
