Biological Function of Berberine and Its Application in Animal Production
摘要
Abstract
Berberine is a main effective chemical component extracted from herbaceous plants. It has biological functions such as antibacterial, anti?inflammatory, anti?oxidant and lipid metabolism regulation. It is a natural feed additive that improves animal performance and regulates intestinal tract. The effect of flora balance and im?provement of meat quality of the product is remarkable, so it has broad application prospects in livestock pro?duction. This paper reviews the physicochemical properties, extraction process, biological functions of berber?ine and its application in livestock and poultry production, in order to provide reference for berberine in animal production applications.[ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(10) :4464?4472]关键词
