Mediating effect of perceived social support between childhood abuse and suicide risk

Abstract
Objective To explore the mediating effect of perceived social support between childhood abuse and suicide risk,and their relationship.Method 1 880 medical students were investigated by childhood abuse questionnaire,suicidal behaviors questionnaire-revised,and perceived social support scale.Results The average score of perceived social support scale was (69.73±10.66),the average score of suicidal behaviors questionnaire-revised was (4.03±1.71),and the score of childhood abuse questionnaire was (39.93±8.63).There was a significant negative correlation between childhood abuse and perceived social support (r=-0.278,P＜0.01),a significant negative correlation between suicide risk and perceived social support (r=-0.489,P＜0.01),and a significant positive correlation between childhood abuse and suicide risk (r=0.423,P＜0.01).The mediating effect of perceived social support was significant,the proportion of mediating effect was 10.8％ in total effect.Conclusion Child abuse,perceived social support,and suicidal behaviors are closely related,and perceived social support plays a part of intermediary effect between childhood abuse and suicidal risk.关键词
