Abstract

Compared with the traditional transfer path analysis, Advanced Transfer Path Analysis (ATPA) method is a new type of transfer path analysis with high precision and efficiency. Based on the ATPA theory, with a general Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) as an example, its Global Transmissibility Functions (GTFs) were measured through experiments and the Direct Transmissibility Functions (DTFs) from each sub-system towards the objective points were decoupled and calculated from these GTFs’results. The DTFs were subsequently synthesized and the contributions of each path was calculated and ordered by using the measured dynamic signal under the desired operational conditions. The results showed that the windscreen was the first great contribution source, followed by the Z direction of the front right suspension and the airborne noise of the engine. Finally, the interior noise was effectively reduced by 2.9 dB(A) through targeted optimizing measures, and the test of the interior noise verified the accuracy of the ATPA method.
