Abstract

The dash pass-through (PT) parts penetrate from the engine bay to the inside of the vehicle. Their acoustic property directly affects the vehicle interior noise level. The PT parts, the dash plates and the dash inner make up the sound insulation performance of the dash system, which must be considered in the development process of the acoustic package of the whole vehicle. In this paper, the model for analyzing the statistical energy of the whole vehicle is established. The acoustic contributions of the PT parts of the dash system are analyzed, and the PT parts which have larger contributions to the internal noise of the vehicle are found. According to the equivalent sound transmission principle, the transmission losses (TLs) of the PT parts, the dash plates and dash inner are optimized. And the scheme of optimal design is proposed. In the road test of the vehicle, the TLs of the PT parts before and after the optimization are tested and compared, and found to have larger influences on the internal noise of the vehicle. Finally, the bulk window of the dash system is prepared, and the TLs of the PT plates and the dash inner are tested again. In virtue of the simulation analysis of the contributions, the sound equivalent transmission design of the dash inner and the PT parts is realized. This work has provided a guideline for TL target setting of PT parts for vehicle development.
