摘要

Abstract

[Purpose/Significance]Patent portfolio plays an important role in strengthening intellectual property protection and helps to continuously improve innovation performance of knowledge-intensive enterprises. Patent portfolio is also the basic analysis unit for patent management. However,there is a lack of empirical research on the mechanism of patent portfolio to influence innovation performance. [Method/Process]This paper tries to build a theoretical model to illustrate how patent portfolio size,patent portfolio diversity and the scope of legal rights influence innovation performance using knowledge-based theory. And we introduce knowledge integration as the medi﹣ator. [Result/Conclusion]Through regression analysis of 99 enterprises in the electronics and communication equipment manufacture in﹣dustry from 2009 to 2017,the results show that patent portfolio size and scope have a positive impact on enterprise innovation performance, while diversity has a negative impact on enterprise innovation performance. Patent portfolio size and scope have positive impact on knowl﹣edge integration. Knowledge integration plays an intermediary role between the patent portfolio and innovation performance. These conclu﹣sions provide theoretical reference for enterprises to construct or adjust patent portfolio scientifically.
