摘要

Abstract

The emission of methane from ruminants can cause both environmental pollution and dietary energy waste. Therefore, it is very important to explore the measures to reduce methane emission from ruminants. There are complex microbial fermentation systems in the rumen, which is closely related to the methane pro?duction in ruminants. This paper reviewed the mechanism and regulation of rumen methane production, and al?so focused on the research progress of major hydrogen?consuming compounds and hydrogen?consuming micro?organisms, which can provide technical bases for the reduction of methane emission with the improvement of rumen fermentation in ruminants, through regulating rumen microorganisms by adding hydrogen?consuming compounds in diets.[ Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019, 31(11) :4967?4972]
