Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of different doses of itraconazole-cyclodextrin formulation on the liver and kidney functions and blood routine of healthy Beagle dogs by subcutaneous injection. Thirty-two healthy purebred Beagle dogs weighing±10 kg were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups according to the test requirements, with 8 in each group, a stable living system was established. At a dose of 0.25, 0.75and 1.25 mg/kg, the itraconazole formulation was injected subcutaneously once every 3 days for 7 consecutive times, and the control group was injected with saline. Relevant samples were collected on the 0,5,10,15,and 19 days of the experiment. The dog's clinical performance, blood routine examination, blood biochemical examination,urine routine examination were systematically evaluation. The results showed that,compared with the control group, except for leukocyte-related indicators, the other indicators were not significantly abnormal and were within the normal range. In the three administration groups, leukocytes increased during the test,but returned to normal within five days after the end of the experiment. Therefore, itraconazole-cyclodextrin formulation,as a subcutaneous injection for dogs, has good safety and tolerance, easy and fast operation, good animal compliance,and is suitable for veterinary clinical applications.
