摘要

Abstract

Pathogenic bacteria are always one of threat to human health. Developing novel and effective bactericides to replace cur-rent antibiotics is significant and imperative. We designed and synthesized a pyridine quaternary ammonium salt with double arm clamp configuration as an antibacterial material. By taking advantage of the bridging role and electron donating action of 2, 2'-bis(4-(bromomethyl)benzyloxy)-1, 1'-dinaphthalene, two pyridine molecules can join together to obtain increased positive charges and an-tibacterial activity. The synthesized antibacterial material can effectively kill three common pathogenic bacteria including Escherich-ia coli (ampicillin-resistant), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella typhimurium at a low concentration. The mechanism of membrane-disrupted is proved to be related to the interaction with lipopolysaccharide. Furthermore, it is successfully applied to the treatment of bacteria-infected wound of living mice without obvious biotoxicity.
