Abstract

The recovery of Cu2﹢from simulated wastewater by ion precipitation flotation was studied. The effects of butyl xanthate,dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide and their combined collectors on the flotation indexes were investigated. The results showed that when precipitator Na2 S?9H2O was added in simulated wastewater with the concentration of Cu2﹢as high as 2000mg/L,the black CuS precipitates were generated,which could be recovered by flotation method. When n(S2﹣):n(Cu2﹢)was 1 .1:1,Cu2﹢in the wastewater was almost completely precipitated. In the flotation process,compared with butyl xanthate collector, in the case of using dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide as collector, the water loss rate of simulated wastewater was lower, the recovery of CuS precipitation in foam product was higher, and the flotation effect of ion precipitation was better. When butyl xanthate and dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide were used as the combined collector,adding a small dosage of 2# oil as the foaming agent could further significantly reduce the water loss rate in flotation process,improve the flotation index and reduce the dosage of collector. When 100 mg/L butyl xanthate,100 mg/L dodecyl trimethylammonium bromide 38 mg/L 2# oil were used as flotation agents the water loss rate of simulated wastewater was and only 3.75%,and the recovery of CuS precipitation in foam products could reach as high as 90.21%.
