Abstract
Objective To assess the efficacy of the rubber dam isolation technique combined with four-handed operation in root canal treatment of pulpitis.Methods This study is designed as a single-center retrospective control study of patients with pulpitis who underwent root canal treatment from January 2021 to December 2022.Before January 2022,the conventional isolation technique(cotton roll and high-volume evacuation)was offered in root canal treatment to the patients who were assigned to the control group.After January 2022,the rubber dam isolation technique was offered to the patients who were assigned to the observation group.The two groups were compared in terms of root canal treatment time,success rate of root canal treatment,and patient experience with therapy.The overall treatment time,treatment success rate,and satisfaction rate served as the primary indicators.Statistically,independent sample t-tests and Chi-square test were used to analyze the data in this study.Results Eighty-four adult patients with pulpitis(50 males and 34 females,average age of[40.70±12.55]years)were enrolled in the study.The observation group required shorter overall treatment time than the control group([45.29±4.77]min vs.[51.36±5.54]min,P<0.001).The success rate of root canal treatment was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(97.62%vs.83.33%,P<0.05).The observation group's satisfaction rate was remarkably higher than the control group's(97.62%vs.80.95%,P<0.05).Conclusion Combining the rubber dam isolation technique with the four-handed operation can effectively shorten the root canal treatment time,reduce the risk of infection,and improve the treatment success rate and patient satisfaction rate.关键词
