Abstract

The Battery Energy Storage System(BESS)demonstrates efficacy in enhancing the precision of wind farm response scheduling.This paper introduces a strategy that employs model predictive control(MPC)and a two-layer fuzzy control approach to augment BESS's capacity to adhere to planned wind power output,thereby boosting its profitability.Initially,an objective function is devised using the MPC method,aimed at minimising discrepancies between grid-connected power and planned power,and between the residual capacity of the energy storage system and its ideal value.Subsequently,the real-time state of charge(SOC)of BESS is amalgamated with the dynamic tracking requirement of wind power's planned value.The first layer of fuzzy control rules is introduced to adjust the weighting coefficients in the objective function in real time,ensuring optimal tracking effect.Concurrently,to increase BESS's profitability,the second layer of fuzzy control rules is implemented to adjust the BESS's charging and discharging power by correlating the SOC with peak-to-valley time-sharing tariffs.The proposed control strategy is authenticated through an experimental platform of the wind storage co-generation system.Simulation outcomes indicate that the proposed strategy,in comparison to traditional MPC methods,yields favourable peak-valley arbitrage gains while enhancing the wind-storage system's adherence to planned output and preventing BESS overrun.
