Questionnaire Investigation on the Prevention and Control of Brucellosis in Cattle and Sheep Farms in Hami City,Xinjiang in 2023

Abstract
In order to investigate the implementation status of prevention and control measures for animal brucellosis in Hami City of Xinjiang,and to accurately analyze the shortcomings and loopholes in the practice,the general conditions,feeding management,bio-safety measures,awareness and behaviors for positive farms/households were investigated by means of questionnaire.The results showed that 85.18%positive farms/households had behaviors of substitute or mixed grazing;the declaration rate of introduction was low,and less than 30%animals were quarantined after introduction;pens in 97.54%positive farms/households were disinfected,of which 50.23%were at a frequency of 1 to 2 times per year;96.28%respondents carried out bio-safety disposal of apoblema,feces and other pollutants;45.12%respondents picked up lambs without any protection,7.67%were used to drinking raw milk directly,and 84.21%slaughtered cattle and sheep by themselves,14.15%owners were infected with brucellosis.In conclusion,such shortcomings as complex substitute/mixed grazing,insufficient supervision of movement,lack of grassroots human resources and poor consciousness of self-prevention of practitioners were available in Hami.For the purpose of better prevention and control of brucellosis,it was thus recommended to strengthen top-level design,intensify quarantine supervision,implement purification measures,and improve publicity and notification.关键词
