Abstract

Longmen Mountains thrust belt,located in western Sichuan province,has experienced many com-plex stages of tectonic evolution and developed multiple large faults.In order to discuss the differential tec-tonic uplift among the main faults in the northern section of Longmen Mountains since Mesozoic,this paper has carried out zircon fission track dating and calculated several uplift parameters such as cooling rate etc.The research results show that the zircon fission track ages are mainly among 238~122 Ma.The cooling rates of the core of Tangwangzhai Syncline and Yangtianwo Syncline are 1.211~1.438℃/myr,and the denudation rate is during 0.038~0.048 mm/yr there.The cooling rates and denudation rates of the northwest wing of the synclines are relatively higher,which are 1.150~1.586℃/myr and 0.038~0.053 mm/yr respectively.In gener-al,the zircon fission track age,cooling rate and rock uplift amplitude are banded in the plane and parallel to the main faults.The uplift parameters vary in different regions sandwiched by the Qingchuan Fault,Beichuan Fault,and Jiangyou Fault,while the structural deformation is characterizeds by both"Piggyback propagation"and"Overstep propagation"from the northwest to the southeast.The deformation transition from the piggy-back propagation to the overstep propagation is between 139 Ma and 122 Ma.
