摘要

Abstract

Ocean mesoscale eddy visualization can reflect the motion law of ocean mesoscale eddies in graphical images and other intuitive ways,which is a powerful tool for studying marine mesoscale eddies.However,existing visualization methods suffer from shortcomings.For example,the streamlines in the spatiotemporal continuous visualization framework cannot represent the continuous motion process of the entire spatiotemporal region,feature values applied to the extraction of ocean vortexes are severely affected by the threshold,and interactive transfer function relies on user experience.Therefore,to address these issues,this paper proposes a full spatiotemporal con-tinuous framework and a standard morphological model of the transfer function for the first time.The region-based vortex extraction technology(Ω criteria)is employed for the visualization of marine mesoscale eddies.Further,this paper proposes a two-and three-dimensional graphics processing unit(GPU)implementation scheme of the whole-spatiotemporal continuous visualization framework.Experimental results show that the proposed scheme achieves the visualization of real-time interaction,which is of great significance for the interactive visualization of marine mesoscale eddies.
