Analysis of the influence of the width and roughness of the volute on the performance characteristics of a small high-speed centrifugal fan

Abstract
For the problem of the performance degradation caused by the great increase in the millimeter-level channel size and relative roughness inside the small high-speed centrifugal fan,the numerical simulation of the whole machine combined with the experimental test method was used to analyze the influence of the volute roughness and volute width on the performance of the fan and to explore its internal flow.The research results find that the increase of volute width will make its internal flow more disordered and lead to performance degradation,when the volute width is 4.4 mm,its performance is the best;whereas the increase of wall roughness will make the mainstream area concentrated in the middle of the flow channel,and the increase of wall velocity gradient will lead to the performance decrease of the fan.With the increase of roughness,its performance gradually decreases,and when the roughness reaches 30 μm,its pressure rise is relatively reduced by 12.5%.Through the change curve of performance with volute roughness and analysis of the influence of width,this study can provide reference for the development and modification design of high-speed small centrifugal fan.关键词
