Abstract

In order to explore preparation processing of aramid based silver plated electromagnetic shielding fabric and its property,composite plating process was adopted for chemical silver plating of aramid 1414.An aramid based silver plated electromagnetic shielding fabric was prepared.Based on the physical and chemical property of aramid,the surface treatment of the fabric was carried out.The effects of the mass concentration of silver salt and stabilizer at different process stages on the stability,reaction activity and sample weight gain of the plating solution were studied.The surface morphology,crystalline structure,electromagnetic shielding effectiveness,etc.of the fiber were evaluated and tested.The results showed that the weight reduction rate of the pre-treatment roughening process sample was controlled between 2%and 3%,with initial silver salt dosage of 5 g/L and re-silver salt dosage of 8 g/L.When the amount of sodium thiosulfate as silver plating stabilizer was 0.4 mg/L in the initial plating stage and 0.7 mg/L in the re-plating stage,respectively,the weight gain rate of the plating sample could be reached above 87%.The coating was dense and uniform,the sample felt soft,and the fabric texture was clear.The shielding efficiency was 54 dB~67 dB in the frequency range of 2 GHz to 18 GHz.It is considered that the plating process is stable and reliable.The prepared aramid based silver plated electromagnetic shielding fabric has excellent electromagnetic shielding effectiveness.
