Abstract

In view of the fact that in the long-distance pumping station water delivery system,water hammer phenomenon that endangers the safety of the system can easily occur after an accident stops the pump,a plan is proposed to lay out air valves along the line as water hammer protection,and combine the characteristic line method to carry out the boundary conditions of the air valves.Derivation,establish a mathematical model,and combine with engineering examples,conduct numerical simulation calculations of water hammer on the system,determine water hammer protection measures suitable for the project,and optimize the diameter of the air valve.The results show that the selection of the diameter of the air valve has a great influence on the water hammer protection of the pumping station system.In actual projects,the diameter of the air valve should be selected reasonably.
