A hierarchical dynamic simulation method for fabrics combined with QEM

Abstract
With the rapid development of the textile industry,more enterprises have begun to pay attention to technological innovation and upgrading,and the three-dimensional dynamic simulation of fabrics is an important part of the digital transformation of the textile industry,which can help enterprises better cope with market challenges and promote industrial development.Dynamic simulation technology for fabrics can be used in textile fabric design,virtual fitting and clothing release,textile and clothing product e-commerce and so on,and is also widely used in film and television animation,game entertainment and other fields.Researchers have proposed many solutions in terms of simulation speed,calculation amount and stability,but the actual application scenarios have increasingly high requirements for simulation effect and calculation speed,the realism of cloth simulation needs to be continuously improved,and a better balance between the accuracy and efficiency of simulation effect needs to be found. In the process of fabric simulation,the Position Based Dynamic method(PBD)shows its superior performance in terms of the effect and real-time performance of cloth simulation.If more detailed features of the cloth such as fine folds need to be shown,it is necessary to use high resolution cloth grid,but when the accuracy of the cloth grid is improved,increasing the number of iterative calculations to speed up its convergence will lead to a significant reduction in simulation efficiency and constrained oscillation.To solve the above problems,combined with the research of the position-based dynamics method,a cloth simulation method with multiple grid idea as the core was proposed,and the grid simplification method based on Quadric Error Metrics(QEM)was used to construct the cloth multiple grid.The mesh simplification was combined with the cloth simulation process based on geometric multigrid,the grid establishment scheme was analyzed and designed,and the data transmission and position correction between layers was carried out in combination with the spatial interpolation algorithm.A triangular grid structure with good quality can be built to avoid the appearance of irregular polygons.Based on the hierarchical simulation of cloth,a mixture smoothing scheme combining the Successive Over Relaxation(SOR)method and the Gauss-Seidel(GS)method was proposed,and its effectiveness was verified.After experimental analysis,the cloth hierarchical simulation method improved the convergence speed after the number of particles increased,established a topological grid with higher quality,could better simulate the deformation behavior of the cloth under stretching,and maintained the stability of the simulation effect when dealing with gravity,tensile,wind and other external effects. The research of this paper has certain referencial significance for the development of three-dimensional virtual display of cloth,realizes dynamic effects based on three-dimensional static display,and observes the appearance and form of cloth in an all-round way,which can contribute to the textile industry in the Internet era.关键词
