Abstract

Determining the grid integration priority of different power sources in a hybrid generation system(HGS)plays an important role in improving the system performance.To this end,we propose a method for deter-mining the grid integration priority of hydropower and large-scale photovoltaic(PV)in a hydro-PV HGS.First,a long-and short-term nested operation model is established to simulate the joint operation process of hydropower and PV power in detail.Second,a complementary efficiency evaluation system is established from three aspects:power generation economy,resource use efficiency,and power supply reliability.Finally,three gird integration scenarios are set and compared to determine the grid integration priority,namely,hydropower priority,PV prior-ity,and hydropower priority in flood season,PV priority in non-flood season.China's Longyangxia and Zhongyu hydro-PV HGSs are selected as case studies.The results show that PV with higher grid integration prior-ity can better exert the system performance.This finding could provide support for the informed decision-making for the HGS.
