摘要
Abstract
As an age-related chronic disease and a major cause of low back pain,intervertebral disc degenerative diseases(IDDDs)have attracted increasing attention nowadays.Due to the lack of a thorough understanding of the molecular mechanisms behind the pathogenesis of IDDDs,there is no effective treatment or intervention for these diseases so far.Compared with clinical samples and cell culture models,experimental animal models which are designed to mimic human IDDDs have been established and widely used for the biomedical researches in this field.Therefore,in this article,we reviewed the commonly used IDDDs animal models which include age-induced spontaneous IDDDs model,induced IDDDs model by physical and chemical changes,genetic modification models,nutrition supply modification models,etc.The general treatment or surgical procedures,and the advantages and limitations of each model are discussed in this review.关键词
