The structure of heparan sulfate and its effect on viral infection
摘要
Abstract
Heparan sulfate(HS)is a linear sulfated isomeric polysaccharide composed of multiple disaccharide repeat units,which is widely found in mammalian cell surface and extracellular matrix.HS molecules could recognize and bind to positively charged virion,finally enhancing viral infectivity to host cells.Therefore,HS is identified as a specific receptor for virus to invade host cells.It has been reported that HS plays critical roles in viral invasion by participating in the adsorption and en-try process of many viruses,such as Foot-and-mouth disease virus(FMDV).In this review,the composi-tions of HS and its influence on virus infection are summarized in order to provide references for HS research.关键词
