Abstract

Balises are typically installed outdoors,where they are exposed to various impurities,and their surfaces are prone to contamination.This contamination can significantly impact the accu-rate transmission of telegram information,potentially leading to train stoppages.This study ana-lyzes the operating principles of balise transmission systems.A balise antenna model is estab-lished in the electromagnetic field simulation software FEKO,introducing different types of im-purities on the antenna's surface.The paper conducts simulations to generate uplink signal ampli-tude curves,and calculates key transmission performance indices,including the balise effective range and the number of bits received by the Balise Transmission Module(BTM).The impact of space impurities on the uplink transmission performance of the balise is analyzed.The research results show that impurities with higher electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability tend to reduce electromagnetic penetration,consequently exerting a more substantial impact on balise transmission performance.For balises covered by Class I to Class VI impurities,the maximum permissible impurity thickness should not exceed 300,200,150,50,25,and 2.5 mm,respec-tively.Furthermore,when spatial impurities do not entirely cover the balise surface,their influ-ence on transmission performance is relatively minimal.
