Therapeutic effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation technique combined with early rehabilitation training on patients with ICU-acquired weakness

Abstract
Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF)technique combined with early rehabilitation training on patients with ICU-acquired weakness(ICUAW).Methods A total of 60 ICUAW patients were divided into control group or observation group by the random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.On the basis of routine support therapy,the control group received early rehabilitation training,while the observation group received PNF technique combined with early rehabilitation training.Both groups received 3-week therapeutic duration.The pre-and post-treatment total score of Medical Research Council(MRC)and Physical Function ICU Test(PFIT)scale score,as well as mechanical ventilation duration and length of ICU stay were compared between patients of the two groups.Results After treatment,patients of the two groups obtained elevated MRC total score and PFIT scale score as compared with before treatment,and the observation group yielded higher aforementioned scores as compared with the control group(P<0.05).The observation group exhibited shorter mechanical ventilation duration and length of ICU stay as compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Employing PNF technique combined with early rehabilitation training can ameliorate muscle strength and physiological function of ICUAW patients,and shorten mechanical ventilation duration and length of ICU stay,exerting superior effects to simple early rehabilitation training.关键词
