Effect of modified Lizhong Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture for treating patients with duodenal ulcer in type of cold in spleen and stomach from deficiency and its influence on serum inflammatory factors and gastrointestinal hormones

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of modified Lizhong Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture for the treatment of patients with duodenal ulcer in type of cold in spleen and stomach from deficiency and its influence on serum inflammatory and gastrointestinal hormones levels.Methods A total of 136 patients with duodenal ulcer in type of cold in spleen and stomach from deficiency were randomly divided into study group or control group,with 68 cases in each group.The control group was treated with quadruple regimen,based on which the study group received modified Lizhong Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture for treatment.The Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes score,serum inflammatory factors in terms of transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1),interleukin 8(IL-8)levels,and gastrointestinal hormones with respect to plasma somatostatin,plasma motilin,and serum gastrin levels before and after treatment,as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes efficacy,gastroscopic efficacy,the clearance rate of Helicobacter pylori(Hp),and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between patients of the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rates of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes and gastroscopy of the study group were higher than those of the control group,whereas the total score of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes were lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum TGF-β1,serum IL-8,plasma motilin,serum gastrin of the two groups were decreased,whereas plasma somatostatin level was elevated as compared with before treatment,and the study group exhibited lower levels of serum TGF-β1,serum IL-8,plasma motilin,serum gastrin,while a higher level of plasma somatostatin as compared with the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the clearance rate of Hp,and incidence rate of adverse reactions between patients of the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion On the basis of quadruple regimen,modified Lizhong Decoction combined with abdominal acupuncture for the treatment of duodenal ulcer in type of cold in spleen and stomach from deficiency can ameliorate patients′symptoms,promote ulcer healing,regulate gastrointestinal hormones and serum inflammatory factors levels,exerting remarkable effects and a high safety.关键词
