Abstract
This paper describes common methods for water content testing in waterborne coatings.The experimental efficiency and accuracy of water content determination by gas chromatography have been improved by improving the extraction reagents,ultrasonic extraction time,optimizing relative correction factors.The optimal analysis conditions are:adding 0.2g of isopropanol and 5mL DMF to a 0.5g sample,ultrasonic extraction for 13 minutes,and 1.0μL of supernatant analyzed by gas chromatography.Finally,the water content of five groups of waterborne coatings was determined by gas chromatography and Karl Fischer method.The experimental results showed that the relative standard deviation of water content determination by gas chromatography was 0.34%~0.78%,and the recovery rate was 96.85%~102.99%.It has better precision and accuracy than Karl Fischer method.关键词
