Research progress of NLRP3 inflammasome in neuroinflammation of epilepsy
摘要
Abstract
There is growing evidence that neuroinflammation is involved in epileptogenesis and lowers the threshold for seizure.As a key driver of neuroinflammation,NLRP3 inflammasome releases pro-inflammatory factors such as IL-1 β and IL-18 after activation,which participate in the inflammatory cascade and aggravate seizures.At present,1/3 of epilepsy patients are resistant to anti-seizure medications(ASMs),but ASMs can only relieve symptoms and cannot suppress epilepsy.Therefore,exploring the role of NLRP3 inflammasome in epileptogenesis can help provide new targets.This article reviews the structure,activation pathway and role of NLRP3 inflammasome and its role in neuroinflammation in epileptogenesis.关键词
