Abstract

Lithium-sulfur batteries have gained considerable attention due to their high energy density and low raw material cost.In this paper,biomass carbon materials for lithium-sulfur batteries were prepared from three different biomass materials by high-temperature pyrolysis.Physical characterization was carried out by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),FT-IR,BET,TGA,and constant current charge/discharge performance test,cyclic voltammetry(CV)test,AC impedance test were used to investigate the development of electrochemical properties in lithium-sulfur batteries.The results showed that the loofah-based biocarbon material obtained by high-temperature pyrolysis of loofah flesh had the highest specific surface area of 661.5 m2·g-1 and the largest pore volume of 0.4228 cm3·g-1,and obtained the optimal electrochemical performance as a carrier compounded with sulfur,with a specific capacity of 910.3 mAhg-1 in the first week of discharge and 554.1 mAh·g-1 after 200 weeks of cycling.The first week discharge specific capacity was 910.3 mAh·g-1,and the specific capacity could still reach 554.1 mAh·g-1 after 200 weeks of cycling,indicating good cycling and rate performance.
