The Impact of Cooperative Embedding on Forest Farmers'Organic Fertilizer Application Behavior

Abstract
⑴ Background——Cooperative embedding is an important measure to improve the organization of forest farmers and plays an important role in promoting forest farmers'organic fertilizer application behavior.The study of the impact of cooperative embedding and its different embedding degree on forest farmers'organic fertilizer ap-plication behavior will help to promote forest farmers'green production behavior and the transformation and devel-opment of forestry. ⑵Methods——The research hypotheses were proposed based on the theory of reasoned action and the em-beddedness theory.The research data was collected from a questionnaire survey of 219 forest farmers in Zhe-jiang,Fujian and Jiangxi provinces from November 2019 to March 2020.The IV-probit model was used to quan-titatively analyze the survey data of non-wood forest production of 219 forest farmers,and further discuss the im-pact of cooperative embedding on the forest farmers'organic fertilizer application behavior. ⑶ Results——The regression coefficient of cooperative embedment increased from 0.040 to 0.539,and the significance changed obviously.The absolute value of the regression coefficient of the relevant control varia-bles also increased,and the significance increased.It showed that the IV-probit model could effectively solve the endogeneity of cooperative embedding.The cooperative embedding had a positive effect on the forest farmers'organic fertilizer application behavior at the statistical level of 1%.The cooperative embedding degree was signif-icant at the 5%level.The forest farmers'organic fertilizer application behavior was different with different em-bedding degree.The probability of organic fertilizer application of forest farmers'with high embedding degree was obviously higher than that of forest farmers with medium and low embedding degree.The impact of forestland scale on organic fertilizer application behavior of forest farmers was significantly different,and the forest farmers with small-scale forestland embedded in cooperative had a significant positive effect on organic fertilizer applica-tion behavior at the statistical level of 1%.The effect of the forest farmers with small-scale forestland embedded in cooperative to promote organic fertilizer application behavior was more significant,and it was more likely to change the original production mode,choose to apply organic fertilizer and other green production behavior. ⑷ Conclusions and Discussions——In order to improve the service quality of forestry professional coop-eratives,mobilize the enthusiasm of forest farmers to participate in cooperatives,strengthen the interest linkage mechanism of forest farmers with medium and low embedding degree,and protect the economic interests of forest farmers with small-scale forestland,the following policy suggestions are put forward:First,strengthen publicity and guidance,encourage forest farmers to participate in cooperatives in various forms,and encourage technical guidance to cooperatives so as to provide talents needed for green production of cooperatives.Second,clarify the surplus distribution plan of cooperatives,improve the cooperative charter systems and the internal management level,give certain remuneration or rewards to members who provide productive services or contribute more to the green development of cooperatives,and gradually guide the members from loose to tight interest linkage,so as to improve the interest linkage mechanism between cooperatives and forest farmers.Third,focus on the small-scale forest farmers'demand for organic fertilizer based on the actual forestry production,protect the interests of the small-scale forest farmers through internal supervision,process monitoring and other management methods,and actively guide the small-scale forest farmers to participate in cooperatives and carry out green production.关键词
