Professor Li Huilin's Experience in Treating Obesity Based on the Theory of Deficiency,Phlegm and Stasis

Abstract
Professor Li Huilin believes that the primary pathological location of obesity is in the spleen and kidney,with a particu-larly close relationship with the spleen.The disease is mostly due to deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality,where the pri-mary deficiency in origin lies in the spleen and the excess in superficiality is related to phlegm-dampness.Professor Li Huilin sug-gests that modern obesity is often affected by factors such as lifestyle,stress,and emotions,and is often associated with blood stasis.Therefore,his treatment approach should focus on tonifying deficiency,dispelling dampness and resolving phlegm,promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis,and he frequently prescribes formulas such as Buzhong Yiqi Decoction,Sijunzi Decoction,Huanglian Wendan Decoction,and Didang Decoction.关键词
