Difference and influencing factors in the evaluation of discharge preparation of patients undergoing cataract day surgery between nurses and patients

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the status quo of discharge readiness of patients undergoing cataract day surgery and the difference of evaluation between nurses and patients,and analyze the influencing factors.Methods:The convenience sampling method was used to select cataract patients in the day ward of an eye hospital in Zhejiang Province from October to December 2022 as the survey objects,and the general information questionnaire and self-made discharge readiness questionnaire were used to investigate the patients and their responsible nurses.Results:The median score of discharge readiness self-assessed by 245 patients was 74.0(67.5,79.5),and the median score of 153 nurses was 79.0(72.5,83.0).There were differences in the total score of discharge readiness and the scores of each dimension between nurses and patients.The patients underwent cataract surgery for the first time,low education level,and postoperative visual acuity improvement were the risk factors for the increased difference in nurse-patient score scores(P＜0.05).Low educational level,first operation,age≥75 years,no postoperative visual acuity improvement,preoperative best visual acuity≤4.0,and female were risk factors for discharge readiness(P＜0.05).Conclusion:The discharge readiness of patients undergoing cataract day surgery is at a good level,and the evaluation results of nurses are higher than those of patients'self-evaluation.In clinical work,medical staff should pay attention to the discharge readiness of low-education patients who underwent cataract surgery for the first time,pay attention to the differences in the evaluation results of nurses and patients in this group,and take personalized nursing measures to improve cataract day-to-day care.The level of discharge readiness of surgical patients to promote the safety of patients'discharge.关键词
