Abstract

Hydraulic servo spool valve was susceptible to performance degradation due to erosion by solid particles in oil.On the basis of measuring the micro-topography of the working edges,a particle movement visualization model of valve orifice under small opening was established.The particle movement trajectory of the valve orifice was studied and the variation law of the erosion rate of the working edges with the liquid flow direction was simulated and analyzed.The results showed that there were microscopic notch morphology with chipping on the working edge of the valve orifice erosion,and the high-speed collision and scraping with the working edge during the movement of particles were the main forms of orifice erosion.The mean erosion rate and variance were about 1 and 0.8 times higher than those in the backflow area,respectively.
