Empirical Analysis on the Effect of RCEP Members'Technical Trade Barriers on China's Agricultural Export

Abstract
Regional comprehensive economic partnership(RCEP)is the largest regional economic cooperation partnership in the world.With gradual reduction of tariff barriers,technical trade barriers may become the non-tariff barriers that were the most hidden and difficult to deal with in current international trade.In the paper,a trade gravity model was used to empirically analyze the effect of RCEP members'technical trade barriers on China's agricultural export.The results revealed that China's agricultural export was obviously inhibited by technical trade barriers;in the notifications of SPS and TBT issued by the members,the setting of SPS,instead of TBT,was the main factor affecting China's agricultural export.The results confirmed that the degree of technical trade barriers suffered by China was increasing with continuous increase of the amount of China's agricultural export.It was therefore indicated that the quality of China's agricultural products should be improved to enhance their international competitiveness;and the standard system,technical regulations,quality certification system and warning mechanism of technical trade measures that were in line with international standards should be established to address possible effect of technical trade barriers on China's agricultural export.关键词
