Abstract
The balance between animal disease prevention and control and economic benefits should be urgently solved as required by modern livestock industry,making the application of animal health economics in animal disease prevention and control extremely important.In the paper,the application of animal health economics in economic loss assessment,risk analysis and researches on animal disease prevention and control strategies was summarized.For economic loss assessment,animal health economics could be used for calculation of disease loss and compensation;for risk analysis,knowledge about animal health economics could be used to evaluate different economic indicators and develop the most reasonable and effective risk management measures;for the researches on animal disease prevention and control strategies,animal health economics could be applied to select prevention and control strategies,evaluate the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies,etc.In the future,animal health economics could be used to explore a more intuitive and scientific economic loss assessment system for animal diseases,further improve the risk assessment system,and develop more scientific and cost-effective animal disease prevention and control strategies.关键词
