Abstract
Lactic acid bacteria are a type of Gram-positive bacteria capable of fermenting sugars to produce beneficial metabolic byproducts such as lactic acid.They exhibit functions such as inhibiting the growth of harmful microorganisms and regulating the balance of intestinal flora.To gain a clearer understanding of the current applications and primary directions of lactic acid bacteria in canine and feline clinic,and to better align with practical clinical needs by developing specialized lactic acid bacteria preparations for canine and feline,this review summarizes the biological functions of lactic acid bacteria and the research progress of lactic acid bacteria preparations in clinical applications in canine and feline.It is observed that lactic acid bacteria demonstrate various biological functions;however,their applications in the canine and feline clinic remain relatively limited,indicating the need for further in-depth research on lactic acid bacteria preparations for canine and feline to enhance their utilization in clinical practice.关键词
