Effect of Respiratory Muscle Training Combined with Body Position Optimization on Prevention of Hypostatic Pneumonia in Patients with Cerebral Infarction

Abstract

Objective:To explore the effect of respiratory muscle training combined with body position optimization on prevention of hypostatic pneumonia in patients with cerebral infarction.Method:A total of 90 patients with cerebral infarction who were treated in Jiujiang Third People's Hospital from January to December 2021 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the random number table method,with 45 cases in each group.Both groups received routine nursing intervention.On this basis,the control group received early rehabilitation training combined with traditional body position intervention,and the observation group received respiratory muscle training combined with body position optimization intervention.The changes of pulmonary function[forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1)and peak expiratory flow(PEF)],swallowing function(water swallow test)were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention,and the occurrence of hypostatic pneumonia during hospitalization was counted between the two groups.Result:After intervention,the FVC,FEV1 and PEF in the two groups were higher than those before intervention,and the above indicators in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the water swallow test scores of the two groups were lower than those before intervention,and that of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the period of intervention,the incidence of hypostatic pneumonia in the observation group(4.44%)was lower than that in the control group(17.78%),with a statistical significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The respiratory muscle training combined with body position optimization in patients with cerebral infarction can effectively improve the pulmonary function and swallowing function,and the risk of hypostatic pneumonia has decreased.
