Diagnosis and treatment of feline infectious peritonitis
摘要
Abstract
Feline infectious peritonitis(FIP)is a severe and often fatal disease caused by the feline infectious peritonitis virus(FIPV).Despite ongoing research efforts,diagnosing FIP remains a significant challenge in veterinary medicine.Accurate prenatal diagnosis relied on comprehensive evaluation of the animal medical history,clinical symptoms,laboratory test results,etc.Treatment options for FIP were limited,with antiviral therapy and symptomatic treatment being the primary approaches.Currently,anti-FIPV drugs in foreign clinics are mainly protease inhibitors and nucleoside analogs,but their usage is hindered by various factors in domestic clinical practice.According to the theory of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine,based on the eight principle syndrome differentiation and visceral pattern identification,the preliminary classification of FIP can be divided into spleen Qi deficiency pattern,dampness-heat pattern,and liver-kidney Yin deficiency pattern three types.In recent years,the use of traditional Chinese herbal compound formulations for the treatment or adjuvant treatment of FIP had shown good results,which could compensate for the current shortcomings of moeden veterinary medicine in diagnosing and treating this disease.This article provided an overview of current diagnosis and treatment methods in morden and traditional Chinese veterinary medicine,highlighting their respective limitations to contribute valuable insights for improving the clinical management of FIP.关键词
