Study on thermal deformation behavior and hot working process diagram of 42CrMo steel

Abstract
In this paper,the hot deformation behavior of 42CrMo steel was studied by hot compression expe-riments with Gleeble-3800 thermal simulation machine at deformation temperature of 1 123~1 223 K and de-formation rate of 0.1~10 s-1.The constitutive equation of 42CrMo steel was established,and through analzing the material constants(α,n,Q and ln A),the flow stress prediction model is obtained.The hot working diagram of 42CrMo steel was drawn and the optimum hot working process range was obtained.The results show that the material is sensitive to temperature and strain rate,and the flow stress decreases with the increase of deformation temperature and the decrease of strain rate.The prediction accuracy of flow stress prediction model is 0.987.The optimal process range of 42CrMo steel is as follows,deformation temperature 1 140~1 223 K,strain rate 0.1~1.5 s-1.The study can provide guidance for 42CrMo steel hot deformation processing process formulation.关键词
