Comparative Metabolomics Analysis on Different Flowers of Tibetan Medicine Dracocephalum tanguticum Maxim

Abstract
Objective:The non-targeted metabonomics of indigo and pink flowers of Tibetan medicine Dracocephalum tanguticum Maxim.were analyzed.It provides a reference for the quality evaluation and suitable application of D.tanguticum.Methods:Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS)was used to analyze and identify the metabolites in different colors of flowers of D.tanguticum.Principal component analysis(PCA)and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA)were used to analyze the differences of metabolites in different colors of flowers.The differential metabolites were annotated to Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG),Human Metabolome Database(HMDB)and The Small Molecule Pathway Database(SMPDB),and the metabolic pathways and enrichment of the differential metabolites were characterized by MetaboAnalyst.Results:A total of 560 metabolites are identified from two different flower color samples.There are 223 lipids and lipids,77 oxygen-containing organic compounds,76 phenylpropanoids and polyketones,74 organic heterocyclic compounds,59 organic acids and their derivatives,31 benzene ring derivatives,10 nitrogen-containing organic compounds,four nucleosides/nucleotides and analogues,four lignans/neolignans and related compounds,one hydrocarbon derivative,and one alkaloid and its derivatives.There are 33 significant differences between indigo flowers and pink flowers.Compared with indigo flowers,20 metabolites in pink flowers are up-regulated,and 13 metabolites are down-regulated.Conclusion:In this paper,the secondary metabolites of different flower colors of D.tanguticum are clarified,and the differential metabolites and metabolic pathways of indigo flowers and pink flowers are clarified,which can provide basic data for the development and application of Tibetan medicine D.tanguticum.关键词
