ON THE USE OF GALERKIN'S METHOD FOR PROBLEM OF ELASTIC STABILITY OF COLUMNS
摘要
Abstract
It is known that the buckling problems can be solved effectively by means of galerkin's method,when their equilibrium differential equations can be wri-tten out directly and the trail functions of deflection satisfy all the boundery conditions However,this paper shows that solving the elastic stability problem of columns in Galerkin's method may obtain improper solution if we use three order differential(ə)quation of the small deflection theory of beams with the help of variational principle,we analysed the causes of failure of this method.关键词
