Abstract
To better understand the historical variations in flood occurrences within Yongding River,this study analyzed precipitation and flood patterns in this basin since 1950 by collecting the relevant historical flood records and the hydrological data information of important control stations.Yongding River Basin showed a decreasing trend in precipitation from year 1950 to 2022,while the status of abundance,drought,flooding was all occurred.Since the 1980s,the runoff from the Guanting Mountain decreased under similar precipitation conditions due to changes in underlying surfaces.This reduction significantly lowered the wa-ter inflow to the upstream Guanting Reservoir and the main stream runoff of Yongding River,which led to even multiple consecutive years of flow interruption.In recent years,there has been a slight increase in the Yongding River's runoff,which influenced by reservoir water regulation and ecological water supplements.Yongding River basin has experienced significant floods in the past,such as those in"39·7"and"56·8".The occurrence of another exceptionally large-scale flood in July 2023 emphasized the requirement to re-duce the risk of extreme weather disasters.Enhancing flood control measures remains a critical focus for fu-ture water and drought disaster defense within Yongding River basin.关键词
