Syntactic Pivots in the Coordination Structures of Dyirbal and Japanese
摘要
Abstract
Both similarities and differences exist between the syntactic pivots in the coordination structure in Dyirbal and Japanese.The differences are obvious:the pivots in Dyirbal show inter-clausal ergativity whereas those in Japa-nese show inter-clausal accusativity.There are,however,also similarities between them:[1]The single pivot tends to appear at the beginning of a clause in both languages;[2]Both languages have only one type of double pivots,i.e.,they both have the double pivots of O1/O2+A1/A2,but neither of them has the double pivots of O1/A2+A1/O2.关键词
