Effects of alendronate sodium combined with atorvastatin on bone mineral density,lipid metabolism and inflam-matory factors in patients with hyperlipidemia complicated with osteoporosis

Abstract
Objective To investigate changes in bone density,lipid metabolism,and the levels of Interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in patients with hyperlipidemia com-plicated by osteoporosis treated with sodium alendronate in combination with atorvastatin.Methods Sixty-five patients with hyperlipidemia and osteoporosis treated at our hospital between July 2019 and December 2021 were randomly divided into a control group(n=32)and an observation group(n=33).The control group received treatment with sodium alen-dronate alone,while the observation group received combination therapy with atorvastatin on the basis of sodium alendr-onate treatment.The clinical efficacy,bone density,lipid metabolism,as well as changes in IL-6,CRP,and TNF-αlevels were observed in both groups.Adverse reactions in both groups were also recorded.Results There were no signifi-cant differences in general patient data,femoral neck and lumbar spine L1_4 bone density,total cholesterol(TC),triglyc-erides(TG),and IL-6,CRP,TNF-α levels between the two groups before treatment(P＞0.05).After treatment,compared with the control group,the observation group showed significantly increased bone density in the femoral neck and lumbar spine L1-4,as well as significantly decreased TC,TG,IL-6,CRP,and TNF-α levels(P＜0.05).The total effective rate was significantly higher in the observation group(93.94％)than in the control group(75.00％)(x2=4.477,P=0.034),and there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Sodium alendronate in combination with atorvastatin for the treatment of patients with hyperlipidemia complicated by osteoporosis can improve bone density,lipid metabolism,and inflammatory response.The treatment is effective,safe,and reliable.关键词
