The Industrial Transformation and Upgrading,Urban-rural Income Gap and Residents'Consumption

Abstract
Resident consumption is a key link and an important engine to smooth the domestic circulation,and industrial transformation and upgrading have optimized consumption supply.The study found that during the period of high-quality economic development,industrial transformation and upgrading significantly promoted residents'consumption;The urban-rural income gap has a significant intermediary effect between industrial transformation and upgrading and residents'consumption.The industrial transformation and upgrading will indirectly promote residents'consumption by narrowing the urban-rural income gap;The impact of industrial transformation and upgrading on residents'consumption and the intermediary effect of urban-rural income gap have regio-nal heterogeneity.The direct and intermediary effects in the western region are stronger than those in the central and eastern regions.Therefore,on the one hand,we should provide residents with rich and high-quality goods to meet the growing consumer demand of the people through the supply side,on the other hand,we should drive employment through industrial transformation and upgra-ding,improve labor income,and actively narrow the urban-rural income gap,while actively preventing some regions from expan-ding the urban-rural income gap when implementing industrial transformation and upgrading policies.关键词
