Removal of suspended solids from polyether waste concentrated solution by composite flocculation

Abstract
The composite flocculation method was used to treat polyether waste concentrated solution,the effects of flocculant type,compounding ratio and hydraulic conditions on flocculation were investigated,and the mechanism of flocculant interaction with suspended solids was explored.The experimental results show that:Compared with using polyaluminium chloride(PAC)and cationic polyacrylamide(CPAM)alone,higher turbidity removal rate and liquid recovery can be obtained when used in combination;Under the optimal flocculation conditions of compounding ratio of PAC to CPAM(mass ratio)10.0:1,total flocculant amount 600 mg/L,PAC added first and then CPAM,slow stirring speed 60 r/min,slow stirring time 15 min,and sedimentation time 1.5 h,the turbidity removal rate is as high as 97.36%,the mass concentration of suspended solids in supernatant is reduced to 34.82 mg/L,and the liquid recovery is 95.20%.The microstructure and zeta potential analysis results of the flocs show that when PAC and CPAM are used in combination,the flocs form have large particle size and high compactness,and settle well and form a compact precipitation layer in the polyether waste concentrated solution with high viscosity.关键词
