The relationship between MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism and serum folate,vitamin B12,homocysteine,and prognosis in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage

Abstract
Objective:To explore the correlation between the C677T site gene polymorphism of methylenetetra-hydrofolate reductase(MTHFR)gene and serum folate,vitamin B12,homocysteine levels,as well as prognosis in patients with hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.Methods:A total of 171 HCH patients hospitalized in Nanhai District People's Hospital of Foshan City from January 2021 to February 2023 were selected as the study objects.Se-rum levels of folate,vitamin B12,homocysteine and MTHFR C677T gene polymorphisms were collected.The cere-bral edema volume was measured at admission and 2 weeks after admission,and the prognosis was evaluated by mRS Score 6 months after the onset of the disease.Results:(1)Among 171 patients,the genotype distribution of MTHFR gene C677T locus was found in 29 cases of CC type,59 cases of CT type,and 83 cases of TT type.(2)The levels of serum folate and vitamin B12 in the TT group were significantly lower than those in the CC and CT groups,while the levels of homocysteine were significantly higher than those in the CC and CT groups(P＜0.05);The levels of serum folate and vitamin B12 in the CT group were significantly lower than those in the CC group,and the levels of homocysteine were significantly higher than those in the CC group(P＜0.05).(3)At 2 weeks of admission,the volume of cerebral edema in the TT group was significantly larger than that in the CC and CT groups,and the CT group was significantly larger than that in the CC group,with a statistically significant differ-ence(P＜0.05).(4)The proportion of patients with good prognosis in the CC group was significantly higher than that in the CT group and TT group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:MTHFR gene C677T polymorphism is associated with serum folate,vitamin B12,and homocysteine levels in HCH patients.CT and TT type patients have poor prognosis.关键词
