Effect of dietary energy levels on growth performance,appearance scores and blood indexes of nursery piglets

Abstract
The effect of dietary energy levels on the growth performance,appearance score and antioxidant indexes of piglets during the nursery period were studied,so as to determine the appropriate energy intake level of piglets during the nursery period.In the experiment 1,a total of 240 piglets with an average body weight of 7.45 kg were randomly divided into five groups with dietary energy levels of 10.42,10.59,10.76,10.93 and 11.09 MJ/kg,respectively.The experiment lasted for 25 d.In the experiment 2,a total of 125 piglets with an average body weight of 9.90 kg were randomly divided into five groups with dietary energy levels of 10.21,10.46,10.67,10.84 and 11.05 MJ/kg,respectively.The experiment lasted for 20 days.The results showed that in the experiment 1,the average daily feed intake and average daily gain decreased linearly with the increase of dietary energy level.The increase of dietary energy level also showed a quadratic tendency to decrease the skin score of piglets.In the experiment 2,the content of vascular endothelial factor(VEGF)in the plasma increased linearly with the increase of dietary energy level,and the quadratic effect of reduced glutathione(GSH)increased,and the ratio of reduced glutathione to oxidized glutathione(GSH/GSSG)increased.The study indicates that the feed intake and growth rate of the piglets with small initial body weight decreased linearly with the increase of dietary energy level.The linear decrease in feed intake can cause a decrease in the actual energy intake level of the piglets and ultimately affected the skin score of the piglets.The growth performance of the piglets with larger initial body weight does not change with the increase of dietary energy level,but the plasma vascular endothelial growth factor concentration and antioxidant related indexes of piglets are increased.关键词
