Establishment of ISO/TC 296:Experiences and Enlightenment

Abstract
International standards,as a"universal language"in international trade,play an important role in improving the efficiency of international trade,reducing cooperation costs,and responding to global emergencies.China successfully established the International Organization for Standardization's Technical Committee on Bamboo and Rattan(ISO/TC 296),consolidating China's leading position in this field and promoting sustainable and standardized development of the global bamboo and rattan industry.This paper reviews the preparation process of ISO/TC 296 and the corresponding measures during the process,and summarizes the successful experience in ISO/TC 296 establishment.Suggestions are proposed for applying for the establishment of new ISO technical committees in the fields of forestry and grassland from the aspects of top-level design,sufficient preparation in the early stage,strengthened communication and outreach,and positive and effective response.关键词
