Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of marital satisfaction,maternal gatekeeping behavior,father's parenting value on father involvement.Methods:A sample of 411 couples of adolescents aged 10～18 years nationwide completed the questionnaires about marital satisfaction,maternal gatekeeping behavior,father's parenting value and father involve-ment.Results:①Both parent's marital satisfaction significantly positively predicted father involvement;②Both parent's marital satisfaction significantly positively predicted maternal gate-opening behavior and negatively predicted maternal gate-closing behavior;③The relationship between marital satisfaction and father involvement was mediated by maternal gatekeeping behavior;④Father's parenting value positively moderated the effect of maternal gatekeeping behavior on fa-ther involvement;specifically,the significant positive effect of maternal gate-opening behavior on father involvement was stronger in fathers with higher parenting value while the negative effect of maternal gate-closing behavior on father involve-ment was stronger in fathers with lower parenting value;⑤Father's parenting value positively moderated the mediating ef-fect of maternal gatekeeping behavior between marital satisfaction and father involvement.Conclusion:Father's marital satisfaction affects father involvement through the full mediating effect of maternal gatekeeping behavior while mother's marital satisfaction affects father involvement through the partial mediating effect of maternal gatekeeping behavior with its direct effect still significant.In order to increase the level of father involvement,it is not only necessary to improve the mari-tal satisfaction of both parents to encourage more gate-opening behavior from mother,but also to pay special attention to in-crease father's recognition of his own parenting value.关键词
